Our Mission Statement
Here at Ashleigh Nursery School we believe that children need positive relationships as a foundation of their development.

Together with parents, we have thought carefully about the skills that give children the best start in life. So, alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage, we have 6 aspirations for each child:

We will model and nurture Compassionate and Friendly behaviour.
The nursery environment and learning opportunities will capture the children’s Enthusiasm and develop their Confidence.
Through this nurturing and support we help to develop Independent and Aspirational learners.

Welcome!
We would like to introduce you to our setting.
Selecting the right childcare provider can be a really daunting task, there is so much to check out, so many questions to ask and information to obtain. We hope this website will walk you through all the answers and highlight the benefits of choosing Ashleigh as your childcare provider.
Ashleigh Nursery School was set up in 1990, we put each child at the centre of their journey through the Early Years Foundation Stage;
Our caring staff guide and support the children, liaising with parents to ensure we are meeting their play preferences as well as developmental and welfare needs;
Children are encouraged to share, take turns and be understanding towards others;
Sometimes they may need some extra guidance, whether it’s in developing a particular skill, safeguarding or meeting additional needs, our staff are always supportive. We ensure all activities are inclusive and that the nursery is free from discrimination;
Ashleigh has four nursery rooms, one for each stage of development, each has its own outside play area. We are open for 51 weeks of the year, only closed for bank holidays and Christmas week.

Rooms
Explorers
Our Explorers room caters for children from 6 weeks old. We
encourage and support each child on their first big adventure,
building good relationships with parents and carers; so we can
get to know each child’s individual needs and routine! We
gradually introduce new activities and sensory opportunities to
help the babies learn, grow and develop.
Discoverers
Our Discoverers room caters for children who are 1-2 years old and are confidently mobile. We host a variety of exciting and challenging activities built around each child’s interests from home and nursery. We get very messy in this room as we find children learn best by exploring with their senses! We provide a happy, friendly environment and will support your child’s day care needs so it’s like a home from home.
Adventurers
Our Adventurers room is a free-flowing environment with 3 rooms and an outdoor learning space. We are registered for 24 children daily, aged 2-3 years, with nursery staff who support each child by offering many learning opportunities, experiences and captivating activities that spark their interests. We ensure the children are learning through play in ways that excite and challenge their thinking and creativity.
Inventors
Our Pre-school room caters for children aged 3-5 years and our focus is preparing the children for their new, exciting journey towards school. We support their developing independence, teaching them those all-important skills so they can be school-ready. We offer each child the opportunity to take part in lots of challenging activities based around their current interests. As their time to start school approaches we invite their teachers to visit us and liaise with them to ensure a smooth transition.
